Nandina Blush Pink

Nandina Blush Pink or Nandina domestica

is a broadleaf evergreen that grows 2-2.5ft tall and 2-3ft wide.  It does not produce fruit or flowers like other Nandinas making it a great choice when trying to avoid the poisonous fruit.  It’s first year the leaves have a unique pink, reddish look to them that takes a year before they lose that color and turn green.  Using these plants in mass is advised to amplify the effect of the color of the leaves.  When new growth comes in those leaves come out with that pink reddish look.  It is this unique color of an evergreen that makes this shrub special.  It has a hardiness of 6-9. It needs full sun to part shade. It can tolerate dry conditions and heavy shade.  It is useful for warmer climates for hedging where the leaves will not fall off.  It is shipped in a 1-gallon container.
