Ilex decidua ‘Warren’s Red’
A deciduous holly also known as Possom Haw holly is appreciated most for the red berries visible on the leafless tree in the late fall and winter. The berries provide winter interest as well as food for the birds. Can be used as a hedge or planted along a stream or in a wet area. Warren’s Red is the female and you will need a male to produce berries. Ilex opaca would be the pollinator. Height: 6 to 14 feet sometimes will reach 20 feet. Plant in full sun or partial shade. Hardy in zones 5-9. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers.
