Pyrus communis ‘Kieffer’
This hard pear is great for canning or preserves. It is a very productive tree as well as ornamental. It is a 15-20 ft tree grafted on Calleryana rootstock. The fruit is yellow and ripens in August-September. It needs 750 chill hours and a cross pollinator. A good choice for a pollinator would be Orient. Hardy in zones 4-9. The trees are a 3 gallon size and are shipped bareroot.
