Ficus carcia ‘White Marseille’
White Marseille is one of the figs grown at Monticello by Thomas Jefferson. It is a large fig with green to yellow skin and white flesh with good flavor, very sweet with a high sugar content. An old reliable variety. Good for drying, preserves and eating fresh. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Figs aren’t fussy about their soil. They will grow in sandy as well as clay soils. Can be grown in a container for your patio or deck. Self-fertile, Height 10-12 feet. Hardy in zones 6-10. Plants are shipped in a 1 gallon container.
