Juniper Grey Owl or Juniperus Virginiana ‘Grey Owl’
is an evergreen shrub that is low growing of only 2-3ft tall and spreads out from 4-6ft making it great for small ground areas that need cover, specifically areas where there are slopes as it will help with erosion. It can handle dry to wet soil, but it does not handle consistent wet soil well. In the winter it produces berry like cones that birds like to eat. The tips of the branches turn purple during the winter. It is deer resistant. It grows in full sun and is low maintenance. It has a hardiness of 2-9, so it can be planted anywhere in the US, except for the tips of the states where it is hottest. It is shipped in a 1-gallon container.
