They look much like a sunflower but with thicker pink petals. It is also known by the name purple coneflower. It blooms from late spring though summer and sometimes it will spontaneously produce blooms till first frost. It is drought tolerant and is advised not to keep the soil moist. It grows 2-3ft tall and 1-1.5ft wide. It is sturdy and well branched that does not need help standing. It grows best in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. It attracts butterflies and birds and is tolerate to deer, drought, and poor soil conditions. It has a hardiness 3-8. We ship this plant in 6in containers.
