Description
Strawberry Bush, Hearts a bustin with love, Euonymous americanus
This great easy to grow native shrub is an old favorite and a focal point in the fall when it’s brilliant and unusual fruit pods break open to reveal red glossy seeds. It has thick green arching stems and a mostly open form. Moist to dry, part shade. The spring flowers are inconspicuous but the fall show is spectacular. Not only are the seed pods striking but the red fall leaf color rivals that of it’s (non-native) cousin, Burning Bush. Great in a shrub border, woodland garden, edges. Height 4-8’. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers. Zone: 6-9
