Punica granatum ‘Russian’
A very cold hardy pomegranate that is able to withstand temperatures as low as 8 degrees. Pomegranates area self-fruitful deciduous shrubs or small trees. The very ornamental flowers appear in spring to early summer followed by the fruit. Our plants are on their own roots and will be 7-10 feet tall at maturity. The fruit is red with red arils ripening in September and October. Plant in full sun for best fruit production but can take some shade. Hardy in zones 6-10. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers.
