Tagetes lucida
Texas Tarragon, as it is known, is a substitute for French tarragon where it is too hot for the French tarragon to grow. Yellow marigold like flowers appear in late summer. The leaves have a more intense anise flavor that regualr tarragon so use judicially. The flowers and leaves can be used in flavored vinegars. Drought tolerant. Hardy in zones 8-10. Plants are shipped in 3,5″ containers.
