Description

Limelight Hydrangea or Hydrangea paniculate ‘Limelight’,

is a shrub the blooms beautiful cone shaped flowers that change color as they mature, emerging as creamy white, maturing to green, changing to pink and then darkening to rose, and lastly fading to white.  Alongside the beautiful colors, the flower is made up of many tiny petals that forms into a cone that are close together causing it to visually stand out making the color pop.  These flowers bloom in the middle of Summer till early fall.  This shrub grows to 6-8ft high and 6-8ft wide making it a large plant that will fill in space wasting no room with its many blooms and it needs full sun with partial shade.  Morning light is best while shade in the afternoon.   Too much sun light will scorch it while too little will stunt its growth.  Medium amount of water is needed and the soil’s pH does not affect the bloom.  Soil that is moist and well drained is best.  The roots are shallow so 2 to 3 layers of compost or mulch is beneficial.  This shrub is shipped in a 1-gallon container.
