Hydrangea Tardiva

Hydrangea Tardiva or Hydrangea paniculata ‘Tardiva’

is a Deciduous shrub that grows beautiful white petals in its standard hydrangea 4 petals.  It is a very cold hardy hydrangea that can survive down to a zone 3 surviving temperatures down to the -30°F.  It grows quickly so pruning in the late winter encourages blooming for the July -September season.  It grows in full sun to part shade and 8-12ft tall and 7-10ft wide.  It is best to have organic soil that is rich and to avoid clay soil.  The blooms grow in a conelike shape that are one of the later shrubs to bloom of the season.  With age the white blooms will eventually turn purple and pink.  You can prune the plant to 5-10 primary shoots which will cause the blooms to be bigger.  It is shipped in a 1-gallon container.
