Ficus carica ‘Lemon Fig’
An old reliable variety. Blanche is considered the true name of this variety. Medium to large sized greenish yellow, top shaped (turbinate) fruit with white pulp. Has no neck. Outstanding flavor but very delicate. Adapted throughout the South. Fairly cold hardy. Also known by the following names: White Russian, Marsielles, and Mayes Yellow. Ripens early—begins around July 14 in Central Alabama. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Figs aren’t fussy about soil. They will grow in sandy as well as clay soils. Self-fertile. Height 15 to 20 feet. Makes a good container plant for your patio or deck. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers.
