Butterfly Weed Asclepias tuberosa
A colorful perennial drought tolerant milkweed, butterfly weed sports brilliant orange flowers in midsummer. Mounding 1-2’ tall clusters of stems grow in full sun with low to average moisture. Prized as a host plant for the monarch and queen butterflies and a great nectar plant for both butterflies and hummingbirds. Birds use the silky down of the seed pods as nesting material.Hardy in zones 4-10. Plants are shipped in 3.5-inch containers.
