Beautyberry, Callicarpa americana
This shrub is grown for its extraordinary purple berries. It is deciduous, clump forming, and fast growing. Beautyberry is very adaptable, growing in shade, part shade or sun but flowers and fruits best with plenty of sun. It’s not fussy about water either, growing in wet to dry. Birds eat the berries. Average height is 4-6’ but can grow 10’ in favorable conditions. Good in massed plantings, shrub borders. Plants are shipped in 1 gallons containers. Zone 7-11.
