Malus domestica ‘Jonagold’
Jonagold is a cross between a Golden delicious and the Jonathan apple developed in the 1940’s. It is delicious eaten out of hand or can be used in cooking and baking. The fruit ripens in August and September. Trees are grafted on ELMA 106 rootstock and will be a 10-21 foot tree at maturity. Requires 1000 hours of chilling The pollen of Jonagold is sterile so you cannot use it as a pollinator for your other apple trees. Jonagold does need a pollinator for cross pollination in order to produce fruit. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Hardy in zones 5-8. Our trees are 3 gallon size and are shipped bare root.
