Rudbeckia Indian Summer

$7.95

Rudbeckia Indian Summer or Rudbeckia hirta ‘Indian Summer’,

is a type of black-eyed Susan with radial yellow blooms and a brown center. It is a southeastern native perennial that acts like an annual, biennial, or short-lived perennial. This is mostly because it can rot from too much water during the summer. Sometimes they can last for a couple years but the standard is that they last first and maybe second year before they are finished. They do reseed quite vigorously producing more from seed every year. They grow 2-3ft tall and 1-2ft wide. They grow best in full sun with well-drained soil that is not always moist. They are extremely hardy from zones 3-7 which matters little due to main population being from reseeding. They attract butterflies and are tolerate of deer & drought. We ship this plant in a 4in container.
