Santolina chamaecyparissus
Known also as lavender cotton, gray-leaf santolina is an aromatic woody low growing subshrub that makes and attractive border plant or when several are planted a low hedge. Very popular for knot gardens. Bright yellow flowers appear in early summer. The flowers can be dried and used in flower arrangements. Once it has finished flowering it is a good idea to cut it back and promote new leaf growth. Height 12 to 18″. Drought tolerant and deer resistant. Perennial Zones 7-10 Plants are shipped in 3.5″ containers.
