Found in Katy, Texas, this rose has semi double vivid pink flowers. Repeat flowers very well through the growing season well into fall. This Griffith Buck rose is also known as Carefree Beauty. It is one of the roses selected by Texas A & M as an Earthkind rose because of it’s disease resistance and low maintenance. Large orange hips are a bonus. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Height 3 to 5 ft. Hardy in zones 4-11. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers.

I have not had this rose yet, but live in a 115 year old house and I think the Katy Road is calling my name! I heard about her this morning on Central Texas Gardener when Bill Welch, former TAM professor declared the Katy Road to be his favorite rose for his property in Brenham!
I have just the spot for my Katy Road Rose!

If you’re looking for a disease resistant Rose this is it! I had 30 roses from another Rose nursery and this is the only one that survived witches broom disease. It’s a winner!
