Description

Popcorn Viburnum or Viburnum plicatum f. plicatum ‘Popcorn’,

is a deciduous shrub that blooms white ball shaped clusters of flowers.  This is how it has received its common name Japanese snowball because of its shape and color and its native to Japan, China, and Taiwan.  Each flower is made up of 4-5 petals next to dozens of other flowers giving it its shape.  They bloom in the spring time between April and May. As fall approaches the green leaves begin to change into a burgundy red making it a beautiful shrub to look at year long.  It grows 5-8ft high and 4-7ft wide.  It needs full sun and partial shade to grow at its best while receiving medium amounts of water.  Well-drained soil is best.  Its hardiness zone is 5-8 making it a plant that can grow in the milder areas of the United States and not the extreme temperatures.  This shrub is shipped in a 1-gallon container.
