Prunus cerasifera ‘Sapa’
Often called the Cherry plum Sapa has nearly black skin and red flesh. It is good for preserves and canning. This self-fruitful plum requires 800 hours of chilling and the fruit ripens in June. The trees are grafted on Halford rootstock and will be 5-7 feet tall at maturity. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Hardy in zones 4-9. Trees are three gallon size and are shipped bare root.
