Prunus salicina ‘Methley’
If you only have room for one plum tree Methley is the one for you. It is a self-fruitful plum that produces a heavy crop of red/purple fruit with red felsh that ripens in June. Good for fresh eating as well as preserves and canning. Requires 500 hours of chilling. The trees are grafted on Halford rootstock and will be 7-10 feet tall at maturity. Hardy in zones 4-9. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Trees are 3 gallon size and are shipped bare root.
