Diospyros Kaki ‘Maru’
Maru is an astringent persimmon when firm and very sweet when soft, often referrd to as a Chocolate persimmon. In October the fruit ripens to an cinnamon orange color and the flesh a chocolate brown. Maru is grafted on D. lotus rootstock and will be a 10-15 foot tree when fully grown. It requires 400 hours of chilling. Hardy in zones 7-10. Our trees are 5 gallon size and are shipped bareroot.
