Lavandula stoechas
Spanish lavender, sometimes referred to a French lavender because it grows wild in France, is a great choice for hot humid climates. Height is18″ to 2 feet and 3 feet when in bloom. The flowers are a dark purple pineapple shape with lavender bunny ears on the top. Very fragrant leaves and flowers. It flowers very heavily in the spring and would benefit from a good pruning to keep it in shape. It is not the first choice for use in the kitchen. The Lavendula angustifolias and lavendula x intermedia are preferred. Hardy in zones 8-11. Plants are shipped in 3.5″ containers.
