Ilex verticillata ”Winter Red’
This is a female selection that has abundant, large bright red fruit that persist into the winter, which are excellent food for birds. The dark green foliage turns a shiny bronze color in fall. The pollinator is Southern Gentlemen and one plant will be sufficient to pollinate 9 or 10 female plants. Height 6-8 feet tall and wide. Plant in full sun to part shade. Excellent shrub for moist soils or low areas. Hardy in zones 3-9. Plants are shipped in a 1 gallon container.
