Description

Digitalis purpurea ‘Alba’

Spires of bell-shaped white flowers with maroon spots are produced in May and June.  This biennial or short lived perennial has dark green leaves that form a rosette at the base of the plant.  Good for architectural interest at the back of the border in cottage gardens, woodland gardens aand naturalized areas. Tolerates rabbits and deer. In the south we often plant in the fall where the leaves remain green during the winter months and the flowers are produced in the spring.  Plant in full sun to part shade in moist well drained soil.  Height: 3 to 5 feet with a spread of 1 to 2 feet. Perennial in zones 4-8.  Plants are shipped in 3.5 inch containers.
