Ficus carica ‘Tiger’
Tiger is a release from the LSU Agricultural Center breeding program. It is a cross between ‘Celeste’ and C1 (A Capri fig from California). The fruits are large with brown skin and a darker brown stripe. The flesh is sweet and tan to gold in color. The fruit is round tapering slightly toward the stem with a short neck. The eye is partially closed. Good for drying, preserves and fresh eating. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Figs are happy in sandy or clay soils. Makes a good container plant for your deck or patio. Self-fruitful Height: 7- 10 feet. Hardy in zones 8-10. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers.
