Description
Ficus carica ‘Texas Everbearing’
While not quite as cold hardy as ‘Celeste’ it will produce a good crop of figs on new growth following freeze injury. The fruit ripens of a long period of time from June through August. The fruit is medium to large with brownish to violet skin and reddish pink pulp with a mild sweet taste. It is round with a short stem and a somewhat closed eye. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Figs are not fussy about the soil they will grow in sandy or clay soils. Makes a good container plant for your deck or patio. This self-fruitful tree will be 7 to 10 feet tall. Hardy in zones 8-10. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers.
