Daylily Hyperion

Daylily Hyperion or Hemerocallis ‘Hyperion’

is a solid yellow perennial.  Its yellow color is bright and cheery when the sun is shining on it. It is great for adding lots of yellow to your garden as each blooms provides a pleasant amount of yellow. These blooms last for about a day but produce blooms throughout the season.  They bloom during the middle of summer making it a shorter bloom period than other daylilies.  It grows more like a shrub where it will grow 2-3ft wide and 2-3ft tall giving it a rounder image.  It is a good idea to deadhead spent blooms to encourage more blooming, so daily checking during the bloom period is helpful.  It grows best in full sun to part shade and in well-drained soil. It attracts butterflies and is tolerant of rabbits. For the most part they are problem free, except for occasional mites, aphids, and thrips.  They have a hardiness of 3-8.  We ship this plant in a 1-gallon container.
