Punica granatum ‘Grenada’
Grenada resembles Wonderful with dark red skin and deep red arils. The fruit is a little less tart than Wonderful. Pomegranates are a self-fruitful, deciduous small tree or shrub. The orange flowers in late spring to early summer are followed by the red fruit. Our plants are on their own roots and will be 7-10 feet tall at maturity. Plant in full sun for best fruit production but can tolerant some shade. Requires 500 hours of chilling. Fruit ripens in September a littler earlier than Wonderful. Hardy in zones 7-10. Plants are shipped in 1 gallon containers.
