Prunus Persica ‘Contender’
Contender is a self-fruitful yellow freestone peach with yellow/red skin that ripens in July. The fruit is juicy, sweet and tangy. Excellent for fresh eating, canning or baking. It has good cold hardiness making is a good peach for northern climates. It is grafted on Guardian root stock and will make a 7-10 foot tree at maturity. It requires 1000 chill hours. Plant in full sun in well draind soil. Hardy in zones 4-8. Trees are 3 gallon size and are shipped bareroot.
