Description
Baptisia australis
An easy to grow gently spreading perennial with deep green leaves and racemes of dark blue lupine-like flowers in spring and early summer. Also known as False Indigo or Wild Indigo. Once the flowers are through blooming, attractive black seed pods develop which are very ornamental. A very useful cut flower. Good in cottage gardens, native plant areas, borders and naturalized plant areas. Height 3 to 4 feet with a spread of 3 to 4 feet. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Perennial in zones 3-9. Plants are shipped in 3.5 inch containers.
