Planting for the Planet
The current climate crisis is leading to extreme weather patterns, floods, more powerful hurricanes, more intense wildfires, and longer & more frequent droughts. Wildlife, including birds and butterflies and pollinators like bees, are experiencing severe declines reflecting not only these climate changes but also loss of habitat. These challenges can seem overwhelming. And yet, we gardeners are in a powerful position to make a real difference! Join Sue as she talks about the many benefits of planting more native plants. We will focus on plants particularly well adapted to solve particular problems such as water run off, drought, escalating temperatures, wildlife habitat and food, as well as the best native trees for carbon capture—all while making our gardens even more beautiful and sustainable.
