Description
Diospyros kaki ‘Imoto’
One of several strains of Fuyu, the most well known of the Kaki or Japanese type persimmons grown in the US. The ‘Imoto’ is similar to Fuyu and matures its fruit about the same time as Fuyu or slightly earlier, about mid October in Central Alabama. Like other Kaki persimmon it is self-fruitful and non-astringent and produces seedless fruit with outstanding flavor that can be eaten while firm and crisp. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Hardy in zones 8-10. Plants are 5 gallon size and are shipped bare root.
