Pyrus communis ‘Warren’
Warren is delicious dessert pear with yellow skin and a very juicy, sweet, buttery texture. The fruit ripens in August. A chance seelding found in Hattiesburg, Mississippi by Thomas O. Warren in 1976. Warren is grafted on Calleryana rootstock. Height 15-20 feet. It requires 950 hours of chilling and a cross pollinator. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Hardy in zones 5-9. A good choice for a pollinator would be Moonglow or Ayers. Trees are 3 gallon size and are shipped bare root.
