Citrus x meyerii ‘Meyer Lemon’

The Meyer Lemon is grown in China as an ornamental in garden pots.  It is thought to be a cross between a true lemon and an orange.  The fruits are round and dark yellow when ripe.  The skin is thin and the taste is sweeter and less acidic than the super market variety of lemons.  The have an amazing amount of juice.  The trees are very cold hardy. They can take temperatures as low as 28F however,  if there is fruit on the tree it will freeze at 32F.  The flowers of this self-fruitful tree are very fragrant and will perfume the room or yard where they are blooming.  Can be grown outside but will need winter protection. Plant in full sun in well drained soil.  Hardy in zones 9-10. We offer the tree in a 3 gallon size that is shipped bareroot.  Sorry we cannot ship citrus to Arizona, Florida, Texas, Louisiana or California.
