Lilium formosana ‘Formosa Lily’
This magnificent perennial lily was introduced from Taiwan in the 1880’s. It flowers in August through frost with huge very fragrant trumpet shaped white flowers. It is a very tall plant often reaching 7 to 8 feet. The flowers are followed by seed pods which provide winter interest. Very easy to grow and reseeds readily. It has naturalized in many places in the south. It is very tolerant of heat, humidity and drought as well as being pest resistant. Plant in full sun or part shade in moist well drained soil. Perennial in zones 5-9. Plants are shipped in 3.5 inch containers.
