Description

Aquilegia canadensis

This is an airy perennial with fern-like foliage.  It has nodding flowers from midspring to midsummer.  The sepals are scarlet and forward-pointing lemon yellow petals taper into straight, erect red spurs.  This plant seeds freely and will naturalize to form large colonies. Plant in part sun to shade and tolerates moist soil. Good in cottage gardens, native plant gardens and naturalized areas.  Tolerates deer, rabbits and drought. Hummingbirds are very attracted to the flowers. Perennial zone 3-8  Plants are shipped in 3 1/2″ containers.
