Malus domestica ‘Southern Gold’
Southern gold is a golden delicious apple with mild sweet flavor and yellow flesh. It is great in baking, applesauce and eating fresh out of hand. The fruit ripens in August and September. Our trees are grafted on EMLA 106 rootstock and will be 10-21 feet tall at maturity. Requires 900-1000 hours of chilling. Another apple variety is required for cross pollination in order to produce fruit. Plant in full sun in well drained soil, Hardy in zones 5-9. Our trees are 3 gallon size and are shipped bare root.
